St Michael and All Angels, Parish Church of Amersham on the Hill

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care at St Michael’s is carried out by individuals supporting one another, through prayer, friendship and support. This is supplemented by the Pastoral Care Team, whose members make sure that appropriate visits take place.

The aim is to ensure that good communication prevents anyone’s needs being overlooked and the Parish “Links” system facilitates this. Everyone at St Michael’s has a “Link” i.e. someone who will notice any unusual or long-term absence, and make contact in case there may be a problem.

There is a team of lay people who visit anyone who is housebound with the sacrament.

Not One For Lunch.

Each month a home-cooked two course lunch is available in the Lady Chapel for anyone who normally eats alone. The charge is nominal and the occasion provides an opportunity to make and develop friendships, and enjoy the company of others.

Specific Needs.

Anyone who may need long-term professional or spiritual help can be guided by the clergy in finding suitable resources.
